 WHAT WOULD IT TAKE

to change your mind about something you believe?

Your opinions, your acquired knowledge, the type of person you choose to be, and even your own worldview: these are types of things that define you as a person. They are normally developed through your personal experiences or the experiences of others that you have chosen to accept. Consider for a moment the impact that your decisions have upon your life. Most often, decisions you make and accept are influenced by the priority you give to other things in your life that you may not have much control over. You then compromise your desired preferences to accommodate others toward achieving this secondarily preferred result. And sometimes, for the lack of interest or motivation, you just accept whatever happens.

Generally, our personal priorities influence our choices. These then substantially form the person you are to yourself, as well as the person you present to the world. Maybe your personal preference is to be something better or different than you are now, but most people believe that our circumstances have made that determination for us. As the sayings go: change is hard; water runs downhill; just go with the flow; and so on.

But do you know what is easy to change? Your mind.

‘So thinketh a man, so is he.’

It has been observed that for many people who say they believe in science as a substitute for religion, that belief doesn’t seem to offer much improvement to their daily lives . We take for granted that the things we hear about science are true. Most of the time, we believe without any personal investigation or verification. Why? Because we trust or have faith in the scientists. Yet, although knowing some science may be interesting, does it have any desired affect on the way you live your life

So what would or could improve your life without being restricted by your personal circumstances? Spiritual beliefs, you say? Good answer!

Even if you can’t change your circumstances, you may be able to elevate your attitude and change the way you view your life. All you need is a good reason and some motivation. But still, some reluctantly think Oh, this will take a lot of time and effort. And that could be true if you started from scratch. However, if you’ve read this far, then perhaps providence has smiled upon you. This may be your lucky day. Why? Because…

We’ve already sifted through “all” of the other stuff calling itself the true spiritual information or paths to ____ (you name it). NONE of them offer any proof for any of their claims. Furthermore, most are based upon somebody else’s personal experience, all of which seem to vary. Some religions even claim their own sacred texts to represent self-proof. Even science, which seems to discredit many religions, can’t confirm or explain most spiritual experiences.

Where is the scientific proof for the existence of God? Publicly, a few famous atheists and scientists have proclaimed that if God ever provided evidence for His own existence, they would change from their disbelief.  However, there are inherent problems with those who make that type of claim. Aside from the unflattering publicity arising from not wanting to admit they were wrong, they would still continue their denial for fear of consequences evolving from their previous orations. Additionally, how would the religious virtue of faith be reconciled? Once proof was given and made public, faith would no longer be necessary. Until now, one of the more notable sayings regarding spiritual beliefs has been: “For the non-believer/ atheist, no proof is good enough; for the true believer in God, no proof is necessary.”

In our attempt to present even this small, preliminary portion of the proof that the Creator/God has revealed to show forth His own existence, and for you to fully appreciate the sampling of things that are shown in these opening sections, we have a few suggestions that may be of significant help to your understanding of the flow, the connectedness, and the pattern that becomes apparent as it evolves:

  1.  Try to keep an open mind. (Temporarily set aside your previous opinions for now and try to see why each thing is being shown. If you don’t agree with or understand something, try not to let that interfere with hearing the rest. You can always come back to it later.)

  2.  Try to acknowledge within yourself that you may not know everything. (Perhaps allowing the       benefit of doubt until you better understand the full topic.)

  3.  You may have to admit to yourself that you may have been wrong or mistaken about some       Biblical or Spiritual things. (Wouldn’t be better for everyone to know the truth?)

  4. Before you disagree with something, first consider asking “Why do you say that?”

(Maybe the explanation is more credible than the reason(s) supporting what you believe.)
